WILDLIFE HABITAT DESIGN®

Our Services

A wildlife habitat designed by Shirley Weller will enhance your outdoor areas as well as attract the variety of wildlife you desire.  This custom design service is offered within a 50 mile radius of Atlanta.  She can also recommend someone to help you install your habitat if you do not wish to do so yourself.

FOR HOMEOWNERS:

The first visit to your home will be to meet with you and discuss in depth what your expectations are and what knowledge you already have about birds.  Shirley will spend time walking around your property and making notes as to the variety of trees and plants you have in your yard, feeders and nesting boxes you may already have and water sources.  She will also take several photographs of your yard at this time to be used later in designing your habitat.

The next step is to determine what feeders, nesting boxes, plants and water sources you will need in order to attract the most variety of birds.  She will prepare an ink drawing of your yard from the photos taken during her initial visit.  This drawing will include all existing major features and plants and will include the additions she recommends to complete your wildlife habitat.

It is this phase of the design process when Shirley’s eye for outdoor beauty, her knowledge of nature and wildlife and her artistic talent come together to create a habitat that will enhance the beauty of your outdoor areas while at the same time attracting the desired wildlife.  After she has completed her research and her analysis of your landscape, she will add to her ink drawing the proper placement of the various feeders, nesting boxes, water sources and plants she recommends for your wildlife habitat.

Finally, she will meet with you again to go over the completed drawing of your habitat, discuss her recommendations and answer any questions you may have.  She will also provide you with a notebook that includes a wealth of information on birds, butterflies and plants as well as source lists for products and nature and gardening organizations.

FOR DEVELOPERS AND OTHER LARGE PROJECTS:

A site visit of the property will be done to determine the possibilities regarding a wildlife habitat.  After analyzing the results of the visit, recommendations will be made as to what type and how many nesting boxes, feeders, water sources and plants will be needed to complete the project.  Installation of the products can be arranged.

“Attracting More Birds To Your Yard” slide presentation is available for meetings and garden shows.  Call 770-565-4936 to schedule your program or consultation.
